Reception enjoyed their visit to Smithills Open Farm yesterday. We had donkey rides, held the baby animals in pets corner and even watched the cows being milked! 🚜🌾

The Roman Army’s newest recruits had a great time training and visiting Roman Britain. Pendle class practised their formations and marching before visiting the food market, latrines, Roman baths and the amphitheatre to watch a gladiator fight. #PendleEPH

On Saturday, we held our first eco day of 2025. Many thanks to the parents, children and staff who turned up to help with moving compost and bark, fixing fences and sorting out the eco area ready for summer.

Reception are busy planting their own sunflowers this week. We have been talking about what a sunflower will need to grow big and tall 🌻🪴💧

Pendle Class made the most of the sunny weather and went on a flower hunt. They were asked to find as many flowers as possible and take close up pictures in the style of artist Georgia O’Keefe. Back in class we edited our pictures and made a photo collage.🌺 #PendleEPH

Pendle Class thoroughly enjoyed celebrating the 80th anniversary of VE Day in a variety of ways. They made a poppy wreath, bunting to decorate the classroom, created keynotes all about VE Day and WW2 and enjoyed playground games from the 1940s. #PendleEPH #VEDay80

🌊🌿 What an amazing Geography trip Ben Nevis had yesterday! We measured the depth and breadth of the river Lostock, tested the water cleanliness, measured the speed of the river, and even panned for different rocks in the riverbed. 🏞️📏💧

We had some very special visitors in EYFS today - welcome Dotty and Dandelion! The children did a brilliant job holding, bathing and feeding the tortoises, they even made them a new enclosure! 🐢❤️🐢 Hopefully they can come back and visit again soon!

EYFS had very exciting visitors in school today. The children were able to ask questions, sit in the police car and even sound the sirens. They showed us their uniform and talked about staying safe.🚨 Thank you to our special visitors.
