So happy to reward these guys with 1st independent team! Many see my struggling results and consider that I may have thrown the towel in having announced my imminent retirement but the people in this photo know otherwise. I race every lap like it’s my last, burnt foot and all 😓

It’s been one heck of a ride and we sure did go out with a bang 💥

Sorry for the lack of updates following my crash. I preferred to wait until I got the all clear from the internals med team this morning so after 43 hours I’m plenty ready for a meal! I’ve been very fortunate that my pelvic and hip fractures are stable so no surgery required.

Hindsight’s 20/20 and while I could’ve cruised home those final 5 laps of my racing career I figured there was no point being on track unless I was gonna give it 100%. The important thing is that I will recover well. Thanks for all the messages guys 😘

On Thursday we said goodbye to a great man in Paulo Pinheiro. I owe so much of my career to Paulo as in 2009 he gave me an opportunity when no one else would. Paulo’s legacy will live on through his dream that he built, Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, and his son Bernardo of whom he was so proud.
