🚨 USE it : an #R package to perform Uniform Sampling in the Environmental space for better #species #distribution models #SDMs ➡️ USE effectively reduces sample location bias & class overlap Preprint @EcoEvoRxiv bit.ly/3XtFKrh R Code GitHub bit.ly/3HZJ1sO

🚨If you work with #SDMs have a look at our new preprint(ecoevorxiv.org/repository/vie…) where we show how sampling pseudo absences uniformly in the environmental space effectively reduces sample location bias and class overlap. There is also an accompanying R package ➡️ USE

go.nature.com/4249nm6 Finally able to share this work looking at the 'flows' of the economic impacts of biological invasions from native ranges to recipient environments. We see legacies of trade and colonialism in pairwise flows as well as evidence of environmental matching

Interested in plant functional traits? Or just in traits of any organism? Check our discussion in nature on how trait selection influences (or not) the characteristics of synthetic functional spaces like the global spectrum of plant form and function: rdcu.be/dfA5P

Is it possible to include causal relationships in species distribution models? Our attempt employing structural equation models is available at doi.org/10.1111/jbi.14… Thanks to Enrico Tordoni Jonathan Lenoir Sophie Vanwambeke and Sergio Rubin for the support and the great discussions!

In a recent paper @nature, Gross et al. 2024 found an expected increase in functional diversity along an aridity gradient. We offer a different perspective where more nuanced differences are found Carlos Perez Carmona @GiacomoPugliel1 @EleonoraBeccari
