The bleakest part of Macron’s Palestine recognition is U.S. response. Calling it a “prize for Hamas” (PA would govern) just condemns Israelis and Palestinians to Netanyahu’s far right and Hamas’s grip. The U.S. is the main block to peace-against American public opinion.
