Meet Mackenzie - our newest undergraduate researcher who just started working in our lab! 👩🔬 Our lab provides opportunities for undergraduate students to work with the graduate students and gain valuable research experience, under the guidance of Dr. Scholes Rachel Scholes (she/her) 😃

Our PhD student, Jeff, presented on “Evaluating Plant Uptake of 4,4’-Methylenedianiline” at Water and Environment Student Talks Conference today in the “Emerging Contaminants” Ed Session. His talk was based on the research he conducted during his master’s at Utah State University. Kudos to Jeff!! 👏👏

Day #2 of Water and Environment Student Talks Conference: Our master's student Aishwarya presented a 3 Minute West Talk on her current research, "Iron-Based Soil Amendments for Trace Organic Contaminant Degradation in Constructed Wetlands."

Some scientists think they have cool projects...but how many of them get to do fieldwork on a MASSIVE HOVERCRAFT?!! Scholes Lab PhD student Jeff goes out water sampling on the Canadian Coast Guard hovercraft, the Moytel.

Congratulations to our post doc Mahboubeh Mirzaei on the publication of her paper looking at the role of high salinity on #PFOA treatment in #IEX regeneration #wastewater. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

We have a new paper out (bit.ly/3TStBOh) showing how we can design #RainGardens to protect people, plants and animals from a wide variety of toxic chemicals! Rachel Scholes (she/her) @amandagiang Cassandra Johannessen eSTORM Lab (1/4)

So glad I got the opportunity to present my research on "soil amendments for organic contaminants degradation in bioretention systems" and represent eSTORM Lab at #CSC2024 in Winnipeg last week!😊 🙌
