Strong numbers and record breaking audiences for Women’s College Basketball during Champ Week

For the fifth straight week, NBA viewership is up vs last season across WBD & ESPN. Last week ESPN saw a +11% YoY increase, and ABC was up +7% YoY, with Knicks/Warriors at 2.73M viewers, our most viewed game.

While last year was record-setting, beating 2023 was the key indicator we were following to understand whether audience levels for the Women's Tournament have been permanently raised. Round 1 is + 43% vs. 2023. Mission accomplished.

So far, the Women's Tourney has recorded its second most-watched early rounds ever - 3.1 Billion minutes watched. Despite a historically-high scoring margin (23.5 PPG), 7 games have surpassed 1M viewers, which is more than the early rounds of the 2009-2023 tournaments combined
