Our parents generation fought for peace, for happiness. They fought for love!! In 2024, I look around && I see my fellow millennial generation all fighting for the same thing… survival.

The diabetes community uses a blue candle when we lose someone to diabetes.The #T1DE community has lost 1 of our own due to #diabulimia.We light a blue && purple candle for her because without her eating disorder (represented by the color purple) she would still be with us.💙💜💔

This study aims to explore how individuals relate to their diabetes & their eating disorder. How they feel both may have impacted their identity. It is hoped that this research could inform treatment by examining how a persons relationship with #T1DE maintains an eating disorder.

If I had known all that we(I) was truly capable of when I was a child, I would have dared to let myself dream in ways #fatphobia && #ableism made it seem impossible to dream. I wonder where my arrow would be if I had known then that there is no limit to how far it can fly. #T1D

We were so excited to see so many old friends at the iaedp™ Foundation 2024 conference in Orlando. We were also touched to present on a topic close to our hearts: connecting with people who have chronic illnesses & disordered eating or eating disorders!

When people want to know why I stepped back from DBH for a while…It’s this. It’s because in diabetes advocacy you never stop being an advocate because your diabetes never stops. && we all know, in some small ways we’re always having to advocate for ourselves. Talk working 24/7😬
