I struggle this time of year. I read the comments. I know people hate ice breakers and games and chart paper. And, also, I know there are certain things that need to be shared and said and done. Trying to find the balance of must do’s and may do’s…this is what I lose sleep over.

I remember my 17 year old telling me about how much he appreciated a teacher who always allowed students to make HW and test corrections.  He told me: “She said it doesn’t matter when we get it… as long as we get it.”  (This was for an AP class.)

We love you teachers! And to show it, I want to jump in and #clearthelist for as many of you as possible. Thank you for the love & support you show our kids all year long.. so send me your wish lists! And everyone else…let’s see how many we can clear! #ChipInForTeachers

I’ve had pizza from New Haven, New York, Chicago and Rome and still haven’t found anything better than Pizza King in north central Indiana.

You don’t need to react to everything around you. You don’t need to immediately respond to text message and phone calls. You can (and should) spend time doing nothing at all. Your health will improve when you reject urgency culture.

My son once told me about a teacher who “gives the whole class a positive vibe” ... every day. What a cool compliment that is! What if that were true of every teacher? And to my educator peeps out there... the kids are always noticing our vibe. We need to keep it positive.
