Amazon's MLU Explain contains visual essays incorporating fun animations to explain machine learning concepts. Amazon scientists Jared Wilber and Erin Bugbee added a new article explaining how logistic regression can be used for binary classification in machine learning. Learn more.

Join us Dynamic Decision Making Laboratory Carnegie Mellon University for a post-doc position in Human-Machine Teaming. In these projects we explore many issues of interest to CogSci Society computational cognitive science, and decision science.

New article on #ReinforcementLearning y Erin Bugbee & Anand Kamat! A very gentle introduction to an important paradigm underpinning many of today's popular AI API's. mlu-explain.github.io/reinforcement-… #Datavisualization #dataviz #RStats #DataScience #scicomm #svelte #d3js #chatgpt

Looking forward to the research we will produce Dynamic Decision Making Laboratory as part of the new NSF AI Institute for Societal Decision Making (AI-SDM), co-directed by my advisor Cleotilde (Coty) Gonzalez!

Cleotilde (Coty) Gonzalez, Erin Bugbee, and Ngoc Nguyen are at Latin American Conference on HCI. Erin will lead a talk, "Using the SpeedyIBL Library to Construct Computational Models." SpeedyIBL can create IBL agents with fast processing and response time. Learn about SpeedyIBL here: github.com/DDM-Lab/Speedy…

Congratulations! Erin Bugbee and Yinuo for your papers accepted at #CogSci2024!! CogSci Society

Lab member Erin Bugbee will make her dissertation proposal Tues, April 30 at 12:30pm in PH-223D! Titled "Balancing Exploration and Exploitation: Sequential Decision Making in Humans and Machines," she examines how we explore alternatives and utilize knowledge when making choices.

Congratulations to lab member Erin Bugbee (Erin Bugbee) for her poster at CogSci 2024! In an optimal stopping task, she shows that feedback promotes learning, knowledge of distributions hinders exploration, and IBL models can accurately predict stopping behavior. CogSci Society
