The 12th Festival de la Cinematheque began yesterday in Paris. Hommage au KOFA is a section of the programme celebrating classic Korean cinema and the work of the Korean Film Archive. So happy at the great turnout for the opening film, Shin Sang-ok’s Bound by Chastity Rule.

Stanley Kramer’s ON THE BEACH on 35mm was an unforgettable experience. A haunting portrayal of a nuclear holocaust and the end of all things. Made all the more ominous by director and programme curator John McTiernan’s reminder of its relevance today.
