Ha. I saw this and immediately thought, “how timely — I’m in a similar situation now”. So I clicked to read the article, and it’s from 2010, and I was mentioned in it. Such a blast from the past…

It has been such a pleasure and a privilege to collaborate with Brice on SQLite/.NET things. I am feeling a sense of loss about this change, but important things first: Brice, thank you, and Godspeed.

I'm learning AWS, making a VPC, RDS, EC2, ALB, etc. So much clicking! I assume folks get sick of this and script it all with the CLI? Run a script to spin up another hosting environment. And then folks probably get sick of THAT. Is this what things like Pulumi are for?

Are you (like me) old enough to remember 8-bit CPUs but still want younger developers to think you're cool? Don't bother. Unless you're Scott Hanselman 🌮 it's hopeless. Still want to try? Show them this: $ git config —global alias.yeet stash

Stopping is sure failure while persisting at least has the possibly of success. Though there is an opportunity cost to persisting when it’s hopeless… Some thoughts on the decision to press on, or cut losses: longform.asmartbear.com/perseverance?u…

All right, FINE! (That's me admitting I was wrong. I've been skeptical about AspNetCore minimal APIs. But now I'm finally using them in a project, and they're quite nice. But the line has to be drawn somewhere. I'm staying with --use-program-main.)

Want to try the new game we've been working on? 'Word Max is a daily crossword board game played in the "duplicate" style.' It should work in (most?) any web browser. This is the first public preview. Feedback welcome. wordmax.game

Me: Crossword board game apps have too much pointless fluff. I'll create "Word Zero". Also me: I wish I could find an excuse to put a physics engine into a word game app.

New word game! wordbox.game In the tradition of Wordle, one puzzle each day that can be played in a few minutes. Starting from a box of letters, use the clues and swap pairs of letters until every row and column forms a valid word.

I am shocked and distressed to share that I have been renewed as a Microsoft MVP for the 5th year. I mean, what were these people thinking? In terms of MVP stuff, I was SUCH a slacker this year. I guess now I need to turn over a new leaf. 😉 ( Er, thanks #MVPBuzz )
