A poignant service in Hull yesterday on Remembrance Sunday to commemorate those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy today.

Yesterday afternoon, Driffield paid its respects to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. A big turn out by people to watch the veterans marching through town, attending the service and the act of commemoration at the memorial. We will remember them

Every year, Hull holds its own festival of Remembrance to mark Remembrance weekend and raise money for Royal British Legion. Thank you to all the performers and standard bearers that made it such a special night at Hull City Hall on 8th Nov.

Visited Humberside Fire & Rescue firefighters at their station in Bridlington last week - great to hear about their training, equipment and typical tasks. The investment in specialist equipment which meets the particular needs of the County was impressive.

Visited Beverley Fire Station today to be briefed on specialist High Volume Pump equipment. Humberside area contains some of the highest areas of flood risk in the UK so it’s good to see this Humberside Fire & Rescue capability ready to go

What a fabulous evening in Hessle celebrating the 80th anniversary of VE Day remembering those who fought for our freedom. The community choir were brilliant and the boys from Trinity House Academy were perfectly turned out as usual.

Had an amazing day today. Amazing Grace Chapel this morning for their 20year anniversary. The energy and faith in this fabulous community is immense and we were made to feel so welcome. And this evening we were at the beautiful Beverley Minster for the service of St John.

We were invited to the RAFA Hull and East Riding 80th Anniversary VE Day Celebrations today at the Mercure Hotel. Fantastic event and the pipes and drums and the Air Force cadet band were brilliant.

Bishop Burton College - spring live 70th Anniversary Event. We had a fantastic day celebrating this event, meeting with the community and seeing how compassionate they are about their college. Also the animals are fab 😊

We were invited to The Hinge Bridlington earlier this week and we were made to feel so welcome. Our little granddaughter (the deputy sheriff) had a great time. Megan and her team are doing an absolutely fantastic job supporting the local community .
