"That's a little better." Shining watches on with his defense on the field, now having an opportunity for a stop.

“There we go!” Shining claps for his players before holding up one finger to tell them to kick it after the touchdown. His kicking team runs out onto the field and lines up for the point after.

The kick is good, giving Crystal Prep a 7-0 lead partway through the 2nd quarter.

Crystal Prep lines up to kick, sending the ball deep towards the Canterlot goal line.

“Someone make a tackle!” The rate of how quickly Canterlot was moving up the field like this was a bit frustrating for Shining to see against his defense after how they’d started the game.

“GUYS! That’s a kicker!” Shining yells at his offense after the loss of 6, having the next play sent in for them.

Crystal Prep had attempted to go for it on 4th down, failing to convert and giving the ball back to Canterlot on that drive.

“There we go! Way to get the stop guys!” With the incompletion and turnover on downs, Crystal Prep now has the ball with a chance to run out the clock and win the game.

The Shadowbolt offense takes the field, having no intentions of passing the ball on this drive, but they need a first down to seal it.

1st & 10, Crystal Prep hands off for a gain of 5.

The next play is a run up the middle on 2nd & 5 for a 2 yard gain.

On 3rd and 3, they run again, getting stopped just short of the first down marker.

Crystal Prep puts their heavy lineup out onto the field, needing only a short distance to get the first down. Their quarterback steps behind the center and calls for the ball. But the snap is dropped and accidentally kicked along the ground through the defense down the field.

On the Shadowbolts sideline, Shining slams his headset down in disgust with his quarterback and center. “[Buy our toys]! WHAT WAS THAT?!"

“Ugh… Just play like you have all game and bail them out.” Shining sends his defense onto the field for one last drive, expecting them to come through.

He rolls his eyes with the flag thrown, now getting frustrated with his defense. That player is gonna hear about it if it costs them this game.

“…Just get this stop. You guys are better than that last play.” Shining tells his defense to stay out on the field and not to get caught up in the play that they’d just given up.

“Watch the wildcat!” Shining calls to his defense seeing Louie having split himself out wide for the conversion.

Shining takes his headset off, holding his head down in disappointment with his defense. They’d played a near perfect game all night, only for it to fall apart in about 30 seconds.
