Please join us in congratulating Firefighter/AEMT Corey Booth on the completion of his one-year probationary period. FF Booth was presented with his fire helmet shield and was fortunate to have his family on hand to celebrate the occasion, including his brother, Lt. Ryan Booth.

It’s another day of celebration at the firehouse as we congratulate Firefighter/AEMT Chris Winchell, who has finished his 1-year probation and today was presented his fire helmet shield by Capt. Martin. 👏 FF Winchell’s parents and sister were on hand for the occasion.

Temps in the 80s today on the heels of last week’s heat and humidity, which peaked on the day our crew responded to a garage fire in Kingston, are a reminder about the importance of firefighter safety during hot weather. Hydration is key as they acclimate to the warmth.

We have some special guests at the firehouse today. WMUR TV’s Karen Meyers and Chris Shepherd stopped by to chat with our fiddling firefighter, Matt Greene, for an upcoming story to air on New Hampshire Chronicle!

Companies are operating at a motor vehicle accident rollover. Front street at Parker street. Road is currently closed.

Members of B-shift, along with Deputy Chief Fritz, responded with Engine 2 to Epping this morning to provide mutual aid at the scene of a two-alarm structure fire. The fire occurred at Melling Glen Condominiums, located at 153 Coffin Road, and was reported just after 8 a.m.

Congratulations are in order as we begin a new chapter here at EFD with tonight’s public swearing in of Deputy Chief Ryan Booth and Assistant Chief Donald Matheson. They were promoted to their new leadership positions after a combined 50 years of service to Exeter!

We would like to thank the Select Board for supporting the purchase of new PFAS-free turnout gear to improve the health and safety of our firefighters. The decision to replace the gear came in response to recent studies that have shown firefighter turnout gear contains PFAS.

Our new Engine 5 is officially in the house and members are getting a close-up look as part of this week’s training to familiarize themselves with some of the new features of the pumper before it goes into service in the coming weeks.

Please welcome our newest member, Ryan Meisenbacher! He’s joining us as a paramedic, and will soon attend the NH Fire Academy to earn his certifications to become a firefighter. We look forward to working with him and offering our guidance as he continues on his journey.

We would like to thank the folks over at Unitil for taking some time to provide electrical training to our firefighters in an effort to improve their knowledge of the company’s electric operation and increase awareness of hazards and other public safety issues.

Members of D-shift had an opportunity to tour some of the facilities at Phillips Exeter Academy today in an effort to better familiarize themselves with various equipment, including fire panels, fire risers, and water mains.

Five members of A-shift have received an EMS Life Saving Award for their efforts to help save a patient who was suffering from cardiac arrest during a call last month. This was the third such save for A-shift in just the last few months. Strong work A-shift!
