My department is searching for a Postdoc Fellow that will convert to a tenure-track Asst Professor job after 1-2 years! Do you use eDNA? Or remote sensing? Or modeling? Or field work? Do you study environmental science? Or paleoclimate? Or #BEAVERS? Our search is broad! Apply!

“It’s a choice that gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people in the United States have made for decades: Move from a less welcoming part of the country to one with more protections and a bigger community. The price of tolerance was higher rent.”

It took me SEVEN years to figure out that you can save a ggplot as a vectorized .svg file ggsave("file.svg"). The svg file can be opened on powerpoint and it will be completely vectorized, even text are still recognized as text boxes! No more recreating plots on illustrator!!!!!

The Shasta people traditionally said "the people are coming" upon the return of the salmon. Two days ago—October 3rd—the first Chinook salmon in 60 years was recorded by camera passing the former location of Iron Gate Dam. The salmon are returning, and we welcome them home.
