Let's be honest: I'm doing this wrong. If I wanted to go viral, I'd be all "hype hype hype!!!" This thing is the next big thing and you need it now! But I just can't do that to my readers. I give you what the data actually says.

At least five times a day I read a headline--even via newsletter!!!--that is more hype and BS than actual data. Wow. For a good antidote using data and actual pros/cons, try my latest.

There is a lot of jargon and terminology in the streaming wars. So...here's my definitions. Over 11K words (25 pages in my doc) of definitions. Want to help? Think I got something wrong? Let me know. Missed any? Let me know and I plan to update it soon. entertainmentstrategyguy.com/2025/10/08/the…

I'm going to have to slightly disagree with The Entertainment Strategy Guy here in that "VOD" basically means "I have to pay more for this" for normie viewers. If something's on Netflix or HBO Max or whatever you say the service; if you say "VOD" it's the modern "pay per view."

I'd take this criticism more seriously if I thought this reviewer had actually seen Tron: Ares. Were the speakers not working in your theater?

Here's my new rule of thumb: if a company mentions AI without a clear use case, I actually downgrade it’s value in my mind. Why? Because companies are simply saying, “AI” and hoping to piggyback on the absurd valuations of AI companies. That's a sign of underlying weakness.

Angel Studios’ $1.6B SPAC valuation and A24’s $3.5B raise both looked sky-high. Now, with Angel’s losses mounting and A24’s flops piling up, The Entertainment Strategy Guy runs the numbers and the math doesn’t add up theankler.com/p/a24-angel-st…

I do love how "hype" travels so fast, and gets so many links. But sober data analysis? Eh, who wants that. If you want a sober look at Angel (formerly Studios), I'd recommend this. Take out Sound of Freedom and their big marketing push...and what do you have left?
