Yesterday’s poster presentation Society of Biological Psychiatry on white matter brain changes in obesity and bipolar disorder was really fun! Research in collaboration with ENIGMA Consortium from the Tomas Hajek lab. Pictures of me in action courtesy of my awesome supervisor!

What an incredible day! Thank you to all who made our ENIGMA all-hands meeting possible -- from attendees, to presenters, as well as our USC, Society of Biological Psychiatry and Hilton teams! Looking forward to the next one already🧠 until then, see you at #SOBP2023

Now Dr Pauline Favre from NeuroSpin in Paris presents her work on machine learning to detect and subtype bipolar disorder based on microstructure measures worldwide Society of Biological Psychiatry Pauline Favre

Lots of great questions on subtyping of psychiatric disease; new approach arxiv.org/abs/2107.01988 UCSL iterates between clustering patients+clustering healthy controls to separate disease specific clusters from those that would be found in healthy populations Pauline Favre Society of Biological Psychiatry

And now Dr Tomas Hajek explains that the brain abnormalities in bipolar disorder are accentuated by abnormal BMI or poor cardiovascular health, which should be treated as well Tomas Hajek ENIGMA-Bipolar Disorder

Obesity has an exacerbating effect on brain deficits in mental illness but is treatable to some extent but do brain changes predispose to obesity? Tomas Hajek

Thanks Katie Hatch Pauline Favre Tomas Hajek @PKochunov for a great symposium + great to catch up with Hajer Nakua, PhD who took the photo :) Society of Biological Psychiatry

Sean McWhinney from the Tomas Hajek lab presented two posters CCNP today. Check out those brains in collaboration with ENIGMA Consortium bipolar disorder working group, for our new multivariate analysis project!!

I presented a poster on our data in collaboration with ENIGMA Consortium Tomas Hajek Pauline Favre @Josseli22932075 on white matter microstructure in obesity and bipolar disorders CCNP this afternoon! Coming soon to a journal near you…

#ISBD2024 has been wonderful so far!! Great talks by amazing speakers 💪 feeling very inspired and lucky to be a part of the conference. Shout out to Leila Nabulsi for a great talk!

Congrats to ENIGMA-Bipolar Disorder's Leila Nabulsi, recipient of the 2025 BBRFoundation NARSAD Young Investigator Grant in support of her research disentangling medication effects from underlying brain changes associated with #BipolarDisorder using our diffusion+tractography data👏

Exciting new work from various ENIGMA working groups presented today at Society of Biological Psychiatry! Join us today during oral session 1 for a talk from Kuldeep Kumar and oral session 2 to hear from ENIGMA-Bipolar Disorder's Chris Ching and ENIGMA PGC PTSD's Nicholas Steele on their recent studies. #SOBP2025

As always, it was great fun to connect with our ENIGMA Consortium community last night at #SOBP2025 in Toronto - thanks to all who joined us! Cheers to science and the next Society of Biological Psychiatry conference🍻🧠
