Is anyone going to take on the job of #factchecking Elon Musk? His opinions may now be rather on the unhinged side, but it's rather more important that he understands he has a responsibility not to spread false/defamatory information, as there are, justifiably, laws against that.

Found that article interesting for studying the historical role of the 'agent provocateur'. Have #factchecked Musk a bit when I had time & found false info. The riots had their root in a lie, but still went ahead after it had been disproven - a strange aspect of human behaviour.

I'd like to add this 'freedom of speech' thing isn't just one way. I used to work for a US bank in London & satirising 'hanging chads' during the 2000 election was defo frowned upon. Their democracy as a source of fun - no way! theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Most of the people in the UK disagree with Elon Musk & support the UK govt. Will we now have an attack from him on the rights of British people to freely speak their views, as they don't tally with his? What they're saying, of course, is that with freedom comes responsibility.
