Looking forward to trialing the ā€˜Thinking and Linking’ grid concept from @87History’s ā€˜Love to Teach’. Here’s a draft for one I made on ā€˜A Christmas Carol’ at GCSE and currently making one for ā€˜Animal Farm’ to try with KS3! Team English

Last year I found an amazing spreadsheet with all the previous exam questions on it. Think it was on Litdrive UK - which doesn’t seem to be working today. Does anyone know the file I’m talking about and can send it to me please? TIA! #aqaenglish #teachingenglish Team English

Our founder @tweetsbysolomon is in Paris today, collecting this award for best news literacy project in the world on behalf of our incredible teenage reporters. Thank you News Xchange, and to our supporters Google.org & Financial Times. A very proud moment! #NewsXchange #NX19 #medialiteracy

Just seen one of my ex-pupils on the news. One of the 51 pupils from Brampton Manor to earn a place at Oxbridge. Every day I’m blown away by what these young people can achieve #proudteacher

"In English & maths I see a growing number of teachers using visualisers & delivering lessons which consist entirely of annotating texts or tasks, questioning pupils & modelling responses; I am fully on board with this as it reduces the need for extensive resources..." 1/2

If we continue to judge individual teachers by the schools they work in then we are fundamentally missing the point about system improvement.

The tweets of ā€˜My daughter/son doesn’t think they are beautiful/clever/talented, let’s prove them wrong by showing how many likes they can get’ don’t sit well with me. IMO, what you should be showing them is how not to seek validation from others, esp strangers on social media.

Agreed. Yet everyone is prioritising year 11. We should be doing all we can to support these learners, who will also suffer through no fault of their own šŸ˜”šŸ˜”šŸ˜”

Could someone please point me in the direction of a blog about data analysis? It’s something I’m not as confident in, so I’d love to see how other departments track their data and how they analyse it. Bonus if it has excel tips because I’m rubbish at it! Thanks 😊 Team English

I feel sick to my core. She was a child who was groomed in the UK, the place where she was born. We did this. We failed our duty of care to a child.

Happy Saturday night English teachers! I’m wondering if anyone has a scheme for Things Fall Apart I could use as inspiration ? I finally have permission to begin moving away from adopted curriculum and am excited to add diversity to KS3. TIA! Team English #teamenglish

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we say goodbye to the wonderfully talented, funny and brilliant ex student Hussain Chaudhry. Our thoughts are with his family at this tragic time.

We’ve done lots of work to diversify our curriculum, but after Yasmin’s presentation, it’s clear we still have so much more to do! #PiXLEnglish #inspired
