Gianmaria Maccaferri is a real dinosaur (according to him) when it comes to social media. If you happen to see him, tell him that, at eNeuro, we appreciate his in-depth reviews, and his great inputs during the discussion phase to reach a consensus!

It is a long path to find great reviewers. Sometimes as far as New Zealand Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. Thanks David Carmel for always providing a constructive feedback when reviewing for eNeuro.

As we launched a new initiative on stat reporting, I invite you to join the discussion on the blog: blog.eneuro.org/2019/08/discus… In particular, we would like to know in which fields estimation stats are not suited (e.g. big numbers). Thanks. Christophe

Paper on gender dysphoria. We conducted an independent review of the article in response to raised concerns and concluded that any clinical or treatment recommendations were unsupported, thus inappropriate and should be removed. eneuro.org/content/6/6/EN…

1/3 Discussion around the paper on gender dysphoria. I acknowledge that some individuals/media used it to do damage to the LGBTQ community, and I sincerely apologize for it, since eNeuro published it.

2/3 Thank you to all for making your voices heard. At present, no one’s opinion is being ignored. Because I take the issue very seriously, and important decisions will follow, the latter require a thoughtful process.

3/3 A major consultation with the Editorial Board is under way, as discussion like this are critical to uphold the standards of rigorous science and prevent societal damage.

What level of transparency are you comfortable with? #eNeuro publishes with each paper the consultation, reviews, & author responses. If the reviewers agree, we publish their names. Help me learn more why you (as a reviewer) would/would not put your name with an accepted paper.
