In hindsight, it's a good thing 4minute disbanded in 2016. I really stopped giving a shit about fanwars, retired from kpop fandom and pointless arguments.
As someone who writes fics in the "proper" format, I still advocate for people to write how they want. If it's readable to them then that's great. As a reader I can either choose to drop it or continue reading. I've powered through badly written fics for the plot if it was good.
Fanfic authors and readers have always unironically held this holier than thou mentality but lately I'm constantly seeing a new complaint like it's a rite of passage.
I still remember a Naruto x Gara fic from, like, 2007 or 08 or something; it had Naruto as a top and Gara as a bottom and I was OK with that. Later in the story, which was fkin awesome btw, Gara started topping and the concept of switch couples changed my brain chemistry.
