A nice illustration of the inequity of rainfall distribution across the UK. Be surprised if it doesn’t become a much bigger issue with the devolved nations as shortages in England become greater and more acute. By Alister Rae via LinkedIn

It is with profound sadness that The Yorkshire County Cricket Club announces the passing of Harold Dennis “Dickie” Bird MBE OBE, one of cricket’s most beloved figures, who died peacefully at home at the age of 92.

If this is indeed the end, and I’m genuinely extremely sorry if that’s the case- it sounds like it is - then I still think this was a hell of a way to go out. It’s was a heroic way to go and I loved him for it. I know many others did. English cricket was lucky to have him.

The season closes like a book well-thumbed; the last ball bowled, fields now surrender to autumn’s hush. The crack of willow yields to the rustle of leaves, and where applause lingered, only the wind keeps score. Cricket sleeps, yet in silence, spring is sown. 🍂🏏

Whilst I don’t usually do politics on here, I fully endorse the use of the word ‘dipshit’ to describe anyone who maintains a questionable relationship with the truth.

it’s a 2 minute radio program, never repeated, broadcast 18 times a week. Bigger audience than Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, and Jimmy Fallon … combined. Millions listen, with no need for the information it gives. Just to listen. The BBC Shipping Forecast is 100 years old.

A year after the armistice. French pilot Jacques Trolley de Prévaux's airship flight over WWI's devastated battlefields offered a unique aerial view of the places where millions died. (Colorized and upscaled)

This beautiful footage of a young Cornish man returning home to Polperro, Cornwall after working on ships during World War 2 in 1944 is the type of heart melting content that Hollywood have only ever been able to imitate. The more I watch, the more my heart and brain overload
