I think my plan for the troubled days ahead is to emulate Lady Eboshi from Princess Mononoke: Start an arms factory in a fortress in the middle of nowhere where I provide gainful employment to lots of rabidly loyal men and women who get married and have families.

Probably the worst thing about drones is that they are ruining the aesthetic quality of armored vehicles by forcing them to wear thick sheets of cable and caging. Once a noble beast, the tank now looks like an unkempt Pekingese.

Many contenders, but is this the best scene in all of Star Wars? Wish we had more of this. "Master and Commander" but in space. youtube.com/watch?v=8iRCuc…

The problem with making threats you can't back up is that you make yourself look weaker than if you had said nothing at all. This is unfortunately where US FP is at. Insane levels of bluffing and bloviating while the entire world can see the house crumbling in the background.

Grandma and I started re-watching The Mandalorian this week. I look over and see she is playing solitaire on her phone and ask if she is watching the show or playing games. "I am doing both" she says.

For decades, the global NGO class has had the arrogance to believe that it represents the whole of “civil society”, and the willingness of the US to indulge this fantasy has created enormous harm to the West In its time of weakness, we must act to dismantle this network for good

2031. I lay dying on the streets of 桃園, Taiwan. PLA shrapnel shredded my femoral artery. I tremble as my blood nourishes foreign land. Ani no Senshi appears in my HUD, eyes full of tears. “Your death,” she whispers in a soft lilt, “will be 87% more honorable than average.”

Another great video from shoe, as usual. One quibble though. When she brings up bifurcating wages and productivity from 1972, she fails to note the end of the (modified) gold standard in August of 1971. Has had disastrous economic effects for average people.
