This image reveals a gorgeous dense region near the Milky Way’s centre, previously hidden by dust. Astronomers have discovered over 100,000 solar masses of young stars there (Credit: ESO/Nogueras-Lara et al.)

A spectacular view of IC 4633, a galaxy rich in star-forming activity, as well as hosting an active galactic nucleus at its core! (Credit: ESA/Hubble & NASA, J. Dalcanton, Dark Energy Survey/DOE/FNAL/DECam/CTIO/NOIRLab/NSF/AURA, N. Bartmann / L. Shatz)

The Sculptor Galaxy in a Thousand Colours. This incredible image was captured with the MUSE instrument on ESO’s Very Large Telescope. The glowing pink clouds scattered throughout are ionised hydrogen in active star-forming regions. These have been layered over an image of

On Sunday I traveled to the middle of the desert to capture this: The ISS against our sun. What I didn't expect: the sun producing a magnificent flare at the same time A once-in-a-lifetime shot I'm thrilled to share with you. See the uncropped shot or get the print in the reply

My latest capture, M22. It's a globular cluster of stars in the constellation Sagittarius. M22 is one of the nearest globular clusters to Earth, at about 10,600 light-years away. Celestron RASA telescope ZWO ASI533MC color camera Antlia L-Filter Starfront Observatories, TX

So excited to share one of my white-whale projects: a fully physics-based, holographic foil shader. Each pixel simulates a ray of light diffracting into a rainbow of waves, which add and subtract to create these incredible patterns. Not a single gradient was used here!

Breathtaking View: NGC 7635 – The Bubble Nebula The brilliant "bubble" is sculpted by fierce stellar winds from the young star SAO 20575 (magnitude 8.7). As it expands, the bubble collides with a nearby molecular cloud (Credit: NASA & ESA)

Check out this incredible Bodes and Cigar Galaxy by Tommy Lease over on the Picastro app. With a combined 84 hours of expose time, isn’t it fantastic. Check out the tremendous IFN around these two galaxies. picastro.co.uk/post/NTQ5MQ== #ASTRO #Astrophotography
