IE's Yu She recently shared a great post through the College of Engineering blog on Medium. Do yourself and take a few minutes (4 actually) to read about fascinating work being done in the MARS (Mechanisms And Robotic Systems) lab. bit.ly/medium-she22 #PurdueIE #GiantLeaps

🤖 Introducing UniT, a tactile representation learning framework that 🧠 Simple-to-Train: Trained with data from a single simple object. 🥂 Plug-and-Play: Learns a unified representation adaptable to various tasks and objects. See thread for more details (1/4)

A well-trained tactile representation can unlock precise manipulation capabilities and facilitates generalization! We evaluate our framework on real world tasks: sub-mm insertion with varying init, corn chip grasping, and soft-object hanging. Check out Zhengtong’s thread!
