One of the most spectacular photographs of New York I've ever seen, from 1932. Zooming in, you can appreciate how much interwar Manhattan retained its tidy 19th century cityscape. Rowhouses in the center, gasworks on the periphery, occasional skyscrapers in midtown. No more.

Is this the first time four players called 'Son' have featured in a same game together in England, and or involved in the same goal? OptaJoe Adam Hurrey

We're asking people to tell us about walking and cycling around the borough, the improvements you'd like to see, and the barriers to participation. We're also working on an electric vehicle (EV) strategy for the borough. Here's how you can take part: ow.ly/fR6T50Rzp0X

I have no problems with a law on death by dangerous cycling – everyone must obey the rules of the road. But in 2022, 1760+ people were killed on UK roads – 3 involved someone being hit by a bike. What’s the gov plan for stopping 5 people being killed a day by motor vehicles?

We've carefully added colour to this 1746 map of Westminster, Covent Garden and the South Bank (Part 2 of an ongoing project). It's amazing how different the two sides of the river were londonist.substack.com/p/now-in-colou…

POV: You've heard about the magic of the Dutch bike-train system. But you did not fully understand how the details work. (Red Bull with Dawid Godziek: cyclingmagazine.ca/mtb/godzieks-e…)

This Vienna street isn’t “closed” because cars have been removed. It has successfully been “opened” to everything else, to a diverse & invigorated civic life, because cars have been replaced by a multitude of wonderful things. Language matters. My piece for Placemaking Resource on the refurb of the fantastic Arding & Hobbs store in Battersea. A grade II listed landmark store held in great affection by the local community, it has been sensitively repurposed for modern use. lnkd.in/eRTu-h8J

"Good planning is a public benefit and it should be welcomed – even celebrated – as such" Some good words in the Architects’ Journal : architectsjournal.co.uk/news/opinion/w…
