There’s probably too much hand wringing about the Gautrain. On the whole it’s an excellent service. Trains today were full in peak and busy off peak. Yes can do with extension to Soweto, Mamelodi & with infill stations on the north-south line but it’s fast, pleasant & punctual.

It is factually incorrect (& inflammatory) to refer to Jacobson as a “Sea Point Councillor”. Jacobson ran in Sea Point & was obliterated, getting 700 / 10 000 votes. He’s a PR Councillor, allocated to sub council 7 (northern suburbs). He also doesn’t even live in Sea Point.
