🌍 YMCA Vision 2030 in action. 💫 After visiting five local organisations aligned with the four Vision 2030 Pillars, Accelerator Summit attendees gathered at YMCA Mombasa for an afternoon of learning and celebration.

It’s a big night at the YMCA Accelerator Summit tonight. Alongside the upcoming inaugural World YMCA Impact Awards at the Closing Ceremony, the Change Agents will be celebrating their graduation. 🎓 A moment to reflect on their learning and the lifelong friendships they’ve built.

You can judge the wisdom of any society by the investment it makes in all its children, young people & their families. This requires a fundamental reset of the relationship between government & civil society - voluntary organisations, social enterprises, charities & faith groups.

Devotions held a special place at the YMCA Accelerator Summit. Aligned with the Week of Prayer theme, "Moving with Faith through the Elements," each session reflected on the power of water, earth, fire, & wind in scripture & our daily lives. 🙏 More: bit.ly/47QSYoC

The failure of many churches to welcome, accept & include LGBT+ people not only creates stigma, loneliness & lasting damage to their wellbeing & mental health, it misunderstands & misrepresents God. It's as backward looking as the Church's former endorsement of the slave trade!
