As part of our Black History Month #FounderFriday series, we celebrate Anthony Bowen, a civic leader in Washington, DC. In 1853, Bowen founded the first YMCA chapter for African Americans, which was later established as the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington YMCA of Metro Wash.
