i still don't believe something until i can hold it in my hand (i'm a deeply distrusting individual). but our issue of Developmental Cell with Lucas's gamma secretase paper is finally here! hard copies! it's so pretty and i'm so proud of the authors and the artist Alison DePew, PhD!

Annual Sonya Neal holiday in Palm Springs where we get away from our daily grind in lab to RESET, RECOVER, and REJUVENATE as a group. My trainees come first and I prioritize their happiness over everything. Cheers to a new academic year🥂 Love you all♥️

What an exciting past 5 days at #cshlneurocon hanging out with Soizic Riche Yesica Mercado-Ayon, and so many more people. It is by far my favorite meeting with inspiring science, brilliant people, and every 3rd word is axon or guidance!! And always a special treat to see Samantha Butler.

The first few commissural dI1 neuron axons crossing the midline of the embryonic spinal cord! A great image taken by our PhD student Leonor Novais who is competing in the IV edition of the #SciencePhoto_IN Contest at Instituto de Neurociencias UMH-CSIC! Like, comment and repost it to help her win!

Happy to share our latest findings on the new roles of Ryk in astrocytes after traumatic spinal cord injury! Wnt/Ryk signaling not only inhibits axon growth but also responses of astrocytes and other cell types in scarring and wound healing. Congratulations to all authors !!!
