Things from #InternationalRebellion week this week. This was Tuesday’s action. 💪 200 species go extinct every day. We’re in a crisis. Why does nobody seem to care?

Monday’s action for the #InternationalRebellion . We went through to CT to make our voices heard and our displeasure at the apathy shown towards our environment known.

Wednesday’s Action: we joined Extinction Rebellion Cape Town for a die-in at an energy conference where continued fossil fuel usage was one of the main agenda points.

Thursday’s #InternationalRebellion Action consisted of a Cube of Awareness for the ecological and climate crisis on Stellenbosch campus. We had an amazingly positive response to this and will definitely be doing more in future!

Friday’s #InternationalRebellion Action was in the form of a #FridaysForFuture strike on campus, where we walked around campus with our demands, including a #PlasticFreeNeelsie

On Thursday evening we attended EcoMaties Climate Change Chat, where a co-author on the IPCC talked to us about climate change and what it means in a South African context. We also had an opportunity for questions and an engaging conversation about South Africa’s energy future.

On Wednesday evening we attended EcoMaties screening of The Coconut Revolution, a documentary about the first ever war fought for the environment and the rights of people to a clean environment. A must for anyone who needs some inspo for the fight! #InternationalRebellion
