No stopping them! Here they go again. The amazing Field Operations EA beginning work overhauling yet another raingauge for Environment AgencySW . Dave and Paul have made a major difference to the health of our HydrometryEA assets this year…. So a massive thanks!
A bit like the Snow Queen in Narnia- apparently it was -8 on site this morning 🥶 ❄️. However Field Operations EA have prevailed and got the new raingauge cabinet in making a massive improvement. More peripheral work to come, but the gauge can be reinstated now ! Top Job!
Tis looking amazing at Holsworthy! Field Operations EA pulling out all the stops to overhaul our raingauge Much needed improvements for Environment AgencySW HydrometryEA to keep the vital data stream online for #floodwarning and drought analysis. Thanks to those on the ground doing it!
Best bit of the job -meet Field Operations EA beginning refurbish of Trewoon raingauge First part is to remove! Every single fence post was rotten at ground level. Whilst it looks like ground Zero now all will be well soon- updates to follow as the new gauge emerges
Progressing nicely! Refurb of a cabinet housing our flood warning gauge at Canworthy Water ⚠️ The ever brilliant Field Operations EA problem solving to bring the cabinet up to the grade for a mains power install. All ways round this will increase site resilience. Bravo them!
Another Top Job almost finished courtesy of our brilliant Field Operations EA colleagues Trewoon raingauge completely overhauled with new compound and telemetry enclosure Important resilience improvements to maintain this key flood warning and forecasting raingauge
EA Hydrometry on the silver screen! Environment AgencySW HydrometryEA raingauges giving valuable context about last nights flooding in Cornwall Really shows the value of the data that is tirelessly collected by our teams. And great that Field Operations EA recently upgraded Bastreet
It’s a wrap for Easter. And what egg-collect work by Field Operations EA who have now completed the overhaul of Trewoon raingauge Improved resilience and operator safety will see this one match fit for years to come A well earned break for those on site who made it all happen
Pictures tell a thousand words! A busy night for Environment AgencySW with challenging conditions on the coast. Pleased to play my part helping look after our teams out taking observations of conditions to help update warnings and inform future warning procedures
Real time Raingauges are vital for EA operational response. We use them for Flood Warning and Water Quality investigations. HydrometryEA Assets age and need relifing, so pleased to report that Field Operations EA have recently overhauled this gauge. Thanks so much!
Rainy summer days but no stopping Field Operations EA as they overhaul another HydrometryEA real time raingauge. You can see the temporary Pelicase setup that kept the dataset flowing while the overhaul took place. Great to have another one back in fine fettle!
A lovely late autumn day to sign off a project completed by always brilliant Environment AgencySW Field Operations EA. New public safety fencing and staff gauge at Molingey GS, St Austell The site is now match fit for its important work flood warning as well as abstraction issues upstream
Great work from our Field Operations EA and HydrometryEA teams to get this raingauge back to full health….
