.U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has proposed to designate 1,635,746 acres of land as critical habitat for the rusty patched bumble bee! This prohibits any habitat damage or destruction from any federally funded or permitted activities, and is a great step towards recovery! 🐝

Unlike many conservation groups, Xerces doesn't take funding from pesticide (or fossil fuel) companies. We won't be a part of greenwashing. This year, we stopped insecticide sprays on 8+ million acres of public land. If you can, help us keep going in 2025! xerces.org/give

Most pesticides on the market have never been tested for their impact on the vast majority of insect pollinators. Earthjustice has petitioned the EPA, on behalf of the Xerces Society, to strengthen regulations and require essential data to protect these insect populations.

This year, we planted over 100k acres of habitat through our partnership with the USDA. And we stewarded over 19k acres of farmland to achieve Bee Better Certification—ensuring they provide healthy habitat for pollinators. Help us do even more in 2025!💖🐝xerces.org/give
