#30DayMapChallenge - Day 4 - Hexagons Driving west across Kansas can feel you're driving across flat land forever, but what if it was really part of a several hundred mile ramp to the Rockies? At least the speed limit is 75mph. #QGIS #gischat

#30DayMapChallenge - Day 5 - A Journey During my roadtrip last month, we drove through a town called Mexico, Maine. I thought it was really cool but the best part was across the river when entered Peru, Maine. It was at that point, I knew this had to be included. #QGIS #gischat

#30DayMapChallenge - Day 6 - Raster I had a NLCD dataset laying around in my data folder, so I thought, why not use it. Having driven across South Dakota a few times, the change of land cover when crossing the Missouri River is definitely noticeable. #QGIS #gischat

#30DayMapChallenge - Day 7 Vintage Style While this map probably misses the mark for this theme, I really enjoy making maps with this "classic looking" aesthetic. Just something about that monochrome, pixelated look that so fun with a map. #QGIS #gischat

#30DayMapChallenge - Day 8 Data: HDX This map compares the 2020 World Pop dataset with the US Census. I ran zonal stats on the World Pop raster to convert it to Census Blocks. I just thought the title was fun since it's a map about people. #QGIS #gischat

#30DayMapChallenge - Day 10 Pen & Paper While I started college as an art student, I really don’t have the patience or the skill to draw freehand like I used to. I traced out a map that I made of Michigan, and used an ink pen tool to make it more my own. #AdobeFresco #gischat

#30DayMapChallenge - Day 11 Arctic In 2022 my wife and I took a cruise to Alaska. It was an amazing trip and I would love to visit Alaska again. Skagway was the furthest north I have been so far. Maybe someday I'll get to the Arctic Circle. #QGIS #gischat

#30DayMapChallenge - Day 18 3D Downloaded some #lidar data for the Ambassador Bridge between Detroit, MI and Windsor, ON. Thought it might be fun to try and make a 3D map from it. It didn't disappoint. 🙂 #QGIS #gischat

#30DayMapChallenge - Day 22 Two Colors The color green seems to be a big part of the identity of Vermont, though it was covered in yellows, oranges, and reds when I visited last month. #QGIS #gischat

Day 1 - Points It is November and with that comes another #30DayMapChallenge While I try not to make too many serious maps, I did try twice as hard to stay on topic with this one. I was a little confused by Grosse Pointe Shores being a city with "village" in the name.

Day 2 - Lines In November 2015, my wife and I took a road trip from Michigan to the Grand Canyon. While on our way home, we drove down US 491 to pick up Interstate 40 in Gallop, New Mexico. I didn't realize that I had actually driven on US 666. #30DayMapChallenge

#30DayMapChallenge - Day 3 - Polygons Today is a mashup of two things I enjoy making maps about, Taco Bell locations and using a state as a unit of measurement.
