Good morning East Midlands Railway (EMR), please can we have more space for bikes? You’ve got to admit, 2 bike spaces for the London-Sheffield train is a bit of a joke. Note: in the photo, the conductor kindly allowed a third bike onto the train. 🚲 🚲 🚲
Dear Louise Haigh, Shadow Secretary of State for Transport, the genius that is Rt Hon Sir Grant Shapps has left you with an open goal. I hope you put him in his place, to put it mildly.
Guess what Conservative Friends of Cycling & Walking, Sunak lied to you. He plans to be a prime minister who would tackle what he called a "war on motorists". He really doesn’t give two hoots about active travel. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politi…
Sheffield bus single fare: £2.20 London bus single fare: £1.65 No wonder everyone drives in Sheffield, and to be honest, who can blame them? When are you going to stop prioritising cars over all other modes of transport Sheffield City Council Sheffield Green Party LabourSheffield ?
Imperial College London have today confirmed their strong support for safe🚲 infrastructure in @rbkc. That reflects their commitment to, and expertise in, a sustainable, healthy (and safe) future - including for 23,000 students & staff who travel across @rbkc between campuses 👇
Used to be able to walk through here to get to The Range UK but Chesterfield Borough Council have decided they don’t want to encourage walking by putting in an ugly looking fence. I won’t be visiting the Range today.
Once again witnessed someone being refused onto an East Midlands Railway (EMR) train as only 2 bikes allowed. Embarrassing that they refuse to increase bicycle capacity.
Meanwhile, it seems Chesterfield Borough Council & Derbyshire CC have yet to discover bicycle hangars. ☹️Cycle Chesterfield, what say you? What are families without garages supposed to do if they want to cut down on short car trips, when they have nowhere safe to store their bikes?
Four more people refused onto the train because East Midlands Railway (EMR) refuse to allow more than 2 bikes per train, even though it is half empty. A complete joke of a company.
Good morning East Midlands Railway (EMR), please can we have more bicycle spaces on the Sheffield to London service? Louise Haigh Toby Perkins MP
So the new East Midlands Railway (EMR) trains will have only 2 bicycle spaces with only those who have reserved a space allowed to take their bike. An embarrassing and unacceptable backward step just when alternatives to car travel need encouraging. Louise Haigh Toby Perkins MP Cycle Chesterfield
It’s -4 and all the spaces for bikes on the East Midlands Railway (EMR) train are taken. And yet, the new trains are going to have even fewer bicycle spaces. Why? Cycle Chesterfield Toby Perkins MP Louise Haigh
“At EMR, we’re proud to support greener, more sustainable travel options.” Words taken directly from your website East Midlands Railway (EMR) Please tell me how reducing the number bikes allowed on your new trains is achieving this? Cycle Chesterfield Toby Perkins MP Louise Haigh
