Today, one of our meteorologists is retiring after 31 years of federal service. Since March of 1999, Bruce has been at NWS Norman, after a start in San Antonio. Lots of weather and forecasts behind him, but now a well deserved retirement awaits him. Well done, Bruce.
Violent damage left from the Enid, OK, tornado a week ago. Some of the most intense damage I’ve personally seen next to Greenfield, IA. The path of this tornado took two loops on the east side of Enid after it crossed HWY 81 near the air force base.
Today marks three years since the Virginia Beach/Great Neck EF-3 tornado. This tornado had winds estimated up to 145 mph
Approximately 115 homes were damaged, and 11 homes were destroyed. Fortunately, nobody was injured or killed in this tornado.
