Four Recon missions are scheduled to head out to sample TS #Erin over the coming days, so we’ll be able to see what’s really going down under the hood of a meager, fairly weak presentation currently with the system. #TropicalUpdate

#Erin looking quite healthy (and likely intensifying) with vigorous convective bursts overspreading its LLC & MLC, with some vertical tilt still evident due to easterly shear influence. Recon+MW later today should be able to see what’s going on under the hood. #TropicalUpdate

#Erin’s LLC seems to be partially exposed atm due to the presence of evident vertical tilt onset by some easterly wind shear. Intense convective activity weighted to the South should be able to tug the LLC underneath this convection and decrease vortex tilt gradually with time.

Recent recon pass currently through #Erin sampled ~70kt FL winds at about 700mb through the NE eyewall. This with conversions would equate to an intensity of around 60kts, a 10kt increase from the previous advisory. #TropicalUpdate

Recon now may be hinting at some extent of a center relocation underway with #Erin. Significant pressure drop and lightning near the center with still a lack of full vertically stacked centers could be a indication of this underway at this time. #TropicalUpdate
