True, and the great paradox of it all is that parenting is a thousand little things constantly coming undone and constantly needing to be redone until, quite suddenly, something wonderful has been built.
This is why #4 is anathema: because they established so clearly E. 1-3 that the toys live and breathe and have their being in the children. To separate from them by choice and seek a life apart from them doesn't...well, work.

We hear the same arguments about Xian school: "A Xian bubble isn't real life."
But I'm a pastor's wife who teaches at a Xian school with Xian immediate family. My life is largely a Xian bubble and this *is* my really life.
Again, in the college of ed, they'd tell us to emphasize conceptual learning over memorization. I mean, this is what they TAUGHT teachers to do. "As long as they understand how to get the answer, it doesn't matter if it's memorized."
Tell that to the frustrated algebra teacher.
