#OTD in 1848, the 1st ever women's rights convention kicked off in NY, attended by ~300. The 2-day convention concluded with the Declaration of Sentiments, a document modeled after the Declaration of Independence. One key difference? The line "all men & women are created equal."

On July 19, 1848, the 1st ever women's rights convention kicked off, organized by 5 suffragists including Elizabeth Cady Stanton & Lucretia Coffin Mott. It was attended by ~300 people & led to the Declaration of Sentiments: "That all men & women are created equal."
