A very nice Washington ⁦Washington Nationals⁩ win today. I was happy to be there.

Another Washington ⁦Washington Nationals⁩ win last night and this time over the defending World Series champion LA ⁦Los Angeles Dodgers⁩ 6-4. Very impressive. And then I went home and watched Florida defeat Houston 65-63 and capture the National Championship.

It’s now been more than a month since ⁦Pamela Brown⁩ and I started co-anchoring our new and expanded two-hour “Situation Room.” Please join us weekdays at 10AM Eastern. As you know, there’s no shortage of news.

It was so nice welcoming my friend and former CNN Moscow Bureau Chief Jill Dougherty to The Situation Room. @pamelabrowncnn and I discussed Jill’s new and excellent book “My Russia: What I Saw Inside The Kremlin.”

So nice to see both the U.S. and Canadian flags flying next to each other on the Buffalo side of the Niagara River. Canada is on the other side of the river. As we say, Buffalo is the City of Good Neighbors.

My ⁦Buffalo Bills⁩ are truly an important part of my hometown. I spent some time in Buffalo this weekend and spotted this mural along the sidewalk.

“I always thought I was the only one.” That from CNN’s Elie Honig who was named after his grandfather,who survived the Holocaust. But now, a chance encounter with another Elie Honig led him to a remarkable story. Join us in The Situation Room this morning 10am ET for the story.

“Good Night, and Good Luck” with George Clooney playing the legendary journalist Edward R. Murrow is truly excellent and so timely to what’s going on today. And I was honored to meet George who was so nice.

I loved “Just in Time,” the new Broadway musical starring Jonathan Groff as the great Bobby Darin. Groff’s singing, dancing and acting are amazing. The whole cast was terrific. If you love Rock & Roll, as I do, you will love “Just in Time.”

My first day at @cnn was 35 years ago today - May 8, 1990 - when I became CNN’s Pentagon Correspondent. I thought it would be a slow beat but Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait which launched the first Gulf War. I still get up every day and love reporting the news. Thanks @cnn

⁦Pamela Brown⁩ and I were so excited and happy to congratulate our friend and CNN colleague ⁦Katie Bo Lillis⁩ for her terrific new book: “Death of a Racehorse: An American Story.” It’s a fascinating read.

So happy to be celebrating the truly excellent new book “My Russia: What I Saw inside The Kremlin” by my friend and former colleague Jill Dougherty, the former @cnn Moscow Bureau Chief. You will learn a lot.

It was 45 years ago today, June 1, 1980, when the great Ted Turner launched CNN, the first 24/7 television news network, and he changed the way people get their news. I’m so proud I have been with CNN for 35 of those 45 years. Thanks to Ted and to all my wonderful colleagues.

Congratulations to Evan Osnos for his very timely and important new book “The Haves and Have-Yachts: Dispatches on the Ultrarich.” It is very compelling and you will learn a lot.

In “The Situation Room,” ⁦Pamela Brown⁩ and I remembered and honored the great Sly Stone who just passed away at the age of 82.
