Words matter. I was beyond dismayed to hear Susan Acland-Hood state during Bridget Phillipsonโ€™s Accountability Hearing today that the accountability system โ€œshould be high-stakes because itโ€™s high stakes for childrenโ€...

๐ŸงตI do have real concerns over children in EYFS and KS1's development. The more schools and settings I see, the more I see this writ large. The experiences of our youngest children over the last 5 years have been unlike any other generation.

Rory Gribbell โ€˜ Usual groupโ€™ โ€ฆdear me I think you need to delete it. People are rightly upset by Ofsted..the impact on heads is indescribable. My husband was head of a large sec schl until he retired. You have never undertaken that role so I think you should restrain from the sarcasm.

Ofsted's Big Listen. Did the parent survey show clear parental support for the proposed Report Card grading system? Short answer? No. Long answer? ๐Ÿงต

Finally, a request. Ofsted should stop using parents as a wedge to promote its objectives. We get enough stick from the education hierarchy as it is. What Ofsted should really do right now, is listen properly, stop trying to evade meaningful reform, and do better.

Just read a fascinating article over on LinkedIn from a physio about why prolonged sitting in these chairs is really not great. Reasons in comments below. I cannot believe how long I see children sitting for and these chairs are pretty dreadful to do all that sitting in.

Where does Ofsted go from here? It can tinker around the edges but if it canโ€™t take those it inspects with them it is probably a spent force. Iโ€™m proud of our work on this survey. tes.com/magazine/news/โ€ฆ

My son (11, dx Austisic) refuses to wear clothes. He's fine to get dressed when he goes out, then when we get home, he wants his pyjamas on ASAP. He just hates wearing any type of clothes. We have visitors later, and I want him to be dressed! Is this normal for Auststic people?

So when a child is being assessed for #ADHD, parents should be assessed at the same time. Failure to do so can have devastating consequences for the whole family. It was after my son had been diagnosed that I started realising that I had #ADHD. /8

Schools Week Really? Thereโ€™s primary schools that donโ€™t print anything and beg/borrow resources, rely on skillful caretakers to mend things. Maybe the DfE could consider a funding model that isnโ€™t going to leave schools in the red due to the birth rate reduction, rather than this?
