Just a couple of views from the #Wiggs Library Zen Zone this week during Wednesday’s lunch shifts. Thank you El Paso Community Foundation for our new tabletop games! Chess, Checkers, Connect 4️⃣, and Exploding 🐱 were enjoyed by #Wolverines this week.

📖The #Wiggs Librarian was at Sembrando el Futuro and presented about the importance of testimonios in the classroom. Always representing and showcasing the amazing #Wolverines I have the honor to serve!📖

The mobile #Wiggs Library was back for the first time this school year serving #Wolverines! DJ Hunt was there picking up books, checking out books, and jamming to tunes. 6th graders report that her playlist is 🔥!

Easy books, cognates, and metalinguistic connections 🌉 in Spanish 1 today in the #Wiggs Library! In one day we found out that we know hundreds more words in Spanish than we thought thanks to -TION and -CIÓN! Also…. We can’t wait to finish reading La Llorona!

#Wolverines met for Silent Book Club today after school & after that the #Wiggs Faculty/Staff Book Club met. We started the year off with The Witches of El Paso. It was a small but mighty group this time. We enjoyed albóndiga soup & someone brought special stickers for us!

Why yes, that is 60+ Spanish 4 students in the library learning more about their current theme IDENTIDAD w/a poem published by a former UTEP profe & a song by Mecano! This was the biggest group of the day; not pictured are their fabulous teachers having writing conferences too.

Ms. Hunt’s favorite library decorations are her Day of the Dead items. Her mom made the very detailed banner that looks like 3D papel picado! Today they came down and fall and Thanksgiving have officially arrived in the #Wiggs Library.
