Thank you Mary Vitucci for helping students turn favorite books into earrings. I was impressed that one thoughtful student made earrings to give to his sister for her birthday.
I’m pleased by how many students like to work on puzzles for a brain break in the library. Students were invited to enter to win a new puzzle if they worked on them in October. The winner chose to share the moment with a friend who worked on puzzles with her. Wauconda CUSD 118
I felt rejuvenated after our Book Club / Battle of the Books meeting on Friday. I am grateful for the students involved in the musical who attended. They put in a very long day and I admire their dedication to Book Club and @gowhs_theatre Wauconda CUSD 118
Stop by the library this week & vote for your favorite gingerbread house. While you’re here, check out a couple of books to read over winter break so you can read a latte. Also, it’s not too late to join the winter reading challenge. Staff is currently ahead. Wauconda CUSD 118
In honor of the book Star Splitter, I "cloned" the WHS Book Club - an amazing group of students. Thank you Mary Vitucci for helping with crafts last week. There are still a few holiday cards and glass ornaments for students to take this week.
Because we are excited that Mindy McGinnis is coming on March 21, we are periodically hiding free copies of her books at WHS for readers to find. The clue to the hidden location on Wednesday (1/29/25) starting at 6:50 am, is in the image.
I was told by a reliable source that the first hidden book has been found and claimed by someone who is excited to read the book. I'm happy to hear it! Keep an eye out for future giveaways. Bulldog Life - WHS
Here are clues to a couple of hidden locations of free books for students to find. Mindy McGinnis will give presentations in the auditorium this Friday during 5th and 7th periods. She will sign and sell books outside the auditorium 6th and at the beginning of 8th period.
Thank you Mindy McGinnis for talking to students today about your books and encouraging them to write.
The first puzzle of the year has been completed! I love seeing these students in the library. They get their homework done besides enjoying puzzles. Wauconda CUSD 118
