This AQI map from Virginia DEQ strikes me as misleading. The monitor spots with green are those that only track ozone, CO & NO2—not PM2.5, which is the hazard from wildfire smoke. This headline on a recent Washington Post column is quite misleading: "The Anacostia is finally safe to swim..." The one-time event that would have let folks swim for a special event was cancelled because the water did not end up being safe that day. bayjournal.com/news/pollution…
