The storms of last night have cleared but the work to prepare for the next disaster continues. This morning Motorola Solutions came in to facilitate a tabletop exercise for Cybersecurity. Blue sky days lay the groundwork for successful responses on the grey sky days.

We spent this wonderful day hosting GEMA/HS Intro to Search and Rescue course. Members of Whitfield County CERT, Murray County Fire, Murray County Rescue Squad, White County EMA, and Georgia K-9 Search and Rescue came together to hone our skills. Tomorrow we’ll be back for more!

We had the opportunity to host NIMS 300: Intermediate Incident Command for Expanding Incidents this week. This course is not for the faint of heart yet all of the attendees passed! Thank you Brian Meadows from GEMA training for coming up to teach another great class!

We had an amazing time today at Home Depot’s Kids Safety Day! Over 400 kids came through to make a craft, get some goodies from everyone who was set up, and of course check out the trucks! This is always one of our favorite events of the year.
