Here's some UI concepts I've made for latest Small Fish s&box gamejam entry. Probably worth sharing them here. Since this was the very beginning of a gamejam, I also had to make full rendered scenes, so they kind of worked as art direction concepts too. :-D

In early September, I've decided to try making animations, so I did viewmodels for voxel weapons. There are 100 of things that can be improved, but so far I'm satisfied! This was made for a voxel multiplayer s&box game inspired by Ace of Spades, coming... in foreseeable future

Making little rework of Shoot & Build water shader to get rid of material input maps and generate waves & normals at runtime instead. This isn't very necessary for the game visuals, but I love messing with this type of stuff in s&box

Some new amateur animations I've made this month for Small Fish Shoot & Build :-) Animated and implemented these zombie hands a few hours before the playtest yesterday. Surprisingly it seems that it even worked without any issues!

Improved the water shader quite a bit, should be now less noisy and tiled. This is reaching absurd level of unnecessary detail for this game, but at least it is fun. Also water quality can be adjusted via settings now, for both wave iterations and reflections resolution. :0

Finally got some time to experiment with creating procedural nature assets in Houdini. It was surprisingly easy to figure it out, and you can set up really nice workflow with minimal input and huge variety of output data, from mesh itself to any baked surface data. Nice.

Experimenting with a custom shading model in s&box, using custom BRDF model with stylized surface-stable dithering, pixelated shadows, and support for subsurface scattering using thickness map. WIP! Has plenty of inaccuracies that I'll need to resolve in the future.

My s&box water shader tweet got mentioned in 80 LEVEL recent article about Oz's vehicle physics, very nice. :-) It's good to see s&box content receiving more exposure in media. There's a lot more of awesome stuff that deserves attention.
