This morning, the Rufaida School in western Deir al-Balah, #Gaza, has been bombed and at least 20 people have been reported killed so far. The school had been sheltering displaced families and was located in what had been designed as a humanitarian safe zone.

Our team has been delivering humanitarian assistance in the school in the past weeks. We continue to state that schools, civilians and IDPs shelters are not a target.

Over the past year, the ongoing war has drastically affected the lives and humanitarian conditions of over 2.2 million forcibly displaced Palestinians within the #Gaza Strip. WeWorld’s team on the ground has worked tirelessly to deliver essential assistance.

This morning in Deir al-Balah, #Gaza, the compound of the Al Aqsa Hospital was bombed and at least four people have been reported killed and more than 70 injured so far.

Our humanitarian team is currently supporting the displaced people seeking shelter in the grounds of the facility and our colleagues were supposed to deliver assistance there later today.

This represents yet another attack within the designed humanitarian safe zone in the last few days. We continue to state that hospitals, schools, civilians and IDPs shelters are not a target.

The world cannot continue to stand by as the Israeli government commits these atrocities in Gaza. We demand an immediate ceasefire and an end to Israel’s illegal occupation.
