Engineers in Ms. Hawkins's South 2nd-3rd grades are studying erosion. This week they made models of rainclouds and land made from salt and cornmeal. Then they experimented to watch the erosion process in action and to design solutions to protect against landslides.

South Elementary students enjoyed their annual pumpkin patch visit. After classroom studies of the plant life cycle, the visit allowed students to chose their own ripe pumpkin on the vine to take home. Other agricultural activities rounded out a perfect fall day with friends!
