This afternoonโ€™s Weon2019 final session was both fun and thought provoking. Historian Dr Rina Knoeff kicked of with the history of healthy aging, showing that standing desks actually originate from the 18th century ๐Ÿ‘‡

VvE achievement award winner george davey smith concluded the plenary session with โ€œa lifecourse perspective on health ageingโ€. I was extremely pleased to see measurement error discussed in several slides.

Among other things, he discussed a paper on measurement error he had written in 1991 (the year I was born). Almost thirty years later, itโ€™s me doing a PhD on measurement error and feeling there is still a big measurement error knowledge gap.
