This is a spectacular exhibition, an incredible story well-told, kudos & thanks to Port of San Francisco & π» Julie Zigoris π» and the art historians and passionate collectors who brought a lost Jewish artist to life. If you're in SF go see it! sfstandard.com/2024/08/11/locβ¦

FWIW, as the first editor of The San Francisco Standard I can say that during my tenure at least Moritz didn't order up stories of any kind, and certainly didn't "sic his reporters" on anyone.

Gotta agree with Emily Hoeven on this, I think the sculpture is great and works very well at the location, though I can see why others might feel differently. But so cranky, sheesh, lighten up! Burning Man is part of the city even if you personally think it's dumb.

We've got Marc Benioff on the pod, exclusive OpenAI reporting, secondary sales data. Lot to dig into this week. Newcomer is undeniably a newsroom. Tom Dotan and Madeline Renbarger writing with me. Jonathan Weber editing. My mom proofreading. Christopher Gates producing the podcast.

Live from Newcomer Breaking the Bank Summit: avlok sat down w/ Jonathan Weber to talk fintech, stablecoin, and more. Thanks for having us Eric Newcomer!

This Week in Short OpenAIβs move to buy Windsurf prompted Anthropic to cut off the coding app β a sign of whats to come. One thing we can be confident of is crazy AI growth, per Mary Meekerβs βTrendsβ report. A wave of IPOs continued with a big pop for stablecoin provider Circle

Fun to be working as editor at large for Newcomer, with old colleagues Eric Newcomer and Tom Dotan, and newer colleague Madeline Renbarger. Always interesting to see industry patterns repeat themselves and then some, as with the dance between LLMs & developers.
